Self-Reflection: Align with Spirit Through Mirror Work

Self Reflection Card From Indigo Angel Oracle Cards

It can be easy to blame others for our problematic situations, but the Angels wish to lovingly remind us that the better way is to examine our circumstance through the lens of self reflection. This process is not about judging yourself, but simply observing what has brought you to this point. It is neither good, nor bad – rather it just is what it is. Remember, if you don’t like what your thoughts and actions have brought into your being, you are free to make new choices and alter your circumstance moving forward.

Once you can clearly see what has brought you to this point, ask yourself, “What would it take to choose happiness in the present moment, and how can I carry it into the future?”  This is not always an easy question to answer. If this is the case for you, don’t worry. Revisit  the exercise of self-reflection and see what comes up for you. There are no right or wrong answers here. Once you have identified what it will take for you to choose happiness in the now, you will be in a much better position to plan for your future.

Honest self-reflection can be a difficult thing to do. While some of us avoid self honesty by sugar coating the role we have played in creating our truth, I think it is more common for people to be overly harsh and critical of themselves. If this feels like you, know that no one out there is more critical of you than you are. The angels encourage you to literally self-reflect with love by adopting a mirror work practice. A mirror work practice can increase your self love and confidence, which strengthens your connection with your Divine Creator.

To begin a mirror work practice, look in the mirror and speak with love to yourself. You can choose some of the following affirmations, or make up your own.

  • I love you.
  • Let’s have fun today.
  • I believe in you.
  • You can do it!
  • I love your beautiful smile.
  • You always say just the right thing.
  • Thank you.
  • You can be joyful today, if you choose to be.
  • It feels good to keep going – you’ve got this!
  • Thank you, for prioritizing what matters.
  • Everything will work out, it always does.
  • You’re my best friend.
  • Thank you for bring you.
