Welcoming A New Month – A Three Card Tarot or Oracle Card Spread

As June winds down and we look forward to July which is right around the corner, I thought I would share with you a Tarot/Oracle card spread for welcoming in a new month. You can use this spread to help you identify the lessons the universe has been serving up to you, and take a sneak peek at what the new month has in store. There is also a gratitude component as gratitude is really key for growth, happiness, and expansion.

This is a simple three card spread designed to be laid out and read from left to right. (I am using June into July since that is where we are right now, at the time of this writing, but this spread is designed to be used at any time of year!)

  1. What lesson can I take from my experiences in June?
  2. What is something wonderful I can anticipate in July?
  3. What is something I can be grateful for as we welcome a new month?

I’m including a short & sweet sample reading to help give you an idea of how this spread flows. The cards I am using for this sample reading are the Modern Spellcaster’s Tarot.

Nine of Wands, Empress, and Five of Wands cards from The Modern Spellcaster's Tarot

Nine of Wands, Empress, and Five of Wands cards from The Modern Spellcaster’s Tarot

  1. What lesson can I take from my experiences in June? Nine of Wands: The Nine of Wands serves as a reminder that any feelings of being trapped by your circumstances are only an illusion. In truth, you have all the tools you need to change your situation for the better, as long as you are willing to take a stand and do the work. In June, you learned not to fall into the trap of playing the blame game. You’ve learned that it’s more productive to take responsibility for where you are right now, and then you are better able to take inspired action steps toward where you’d rather be. This card also indicates the finding of one’s true inner strength, and the development of wisdom and self discipline gained through challenging experiences and adversity. Nine of Wands can also represent learning not to compromise your integrity and authenticity. This card can often point to a long term struggle which is almost nearing its end – if you can summon the strength to keep going just a little bit further, you will emerge stronger. In short, you are stronger than you think you are!
  2. What is something wonderful I can anticipate in July? Empress: Great news! July is looking to be a month filled with creativity and abundance. This is a time to birth new ideas, projects, and unrestrained creation. The Empress often indicates that the time for your deepest desires, hopes and dreams for your future to manifest in the physical world is near. The Empress is a card of good fortune, and often indicates that the generosity and kindness that you have shown to others is now starting to come back to you. This is a card of many blessings: love, kindness and nurturing. This July, you can look forward to reaping the harvest of your seeds well planted. Enjoy this coming time of growth, creativity, and joyful abundance.
  3. What is something I can be grateful for as we welcome a new month? Five of Wands: I love it when a somewhat challenging card like the Five of Wands appears in a positive position because it’s an opportunity to flex your “positive thinking” muscle to find the good side of what many people consider to be a negative card. Five of Wands here encourages you to be grateful for your ability to resolve conflict and to create something fantastic out of chaos. As we move into a new month, be grateful for the freedom and flexibility that you enjoy in life, and remember that even at the times when you can’t quite see where you are going, you are not alone. Five of Wands also speaks to your ability to harness chaotic energy in a creative and effective way. The Five of Wands in this position could also be a reminder to be grateful for your discernment in recognizing when it is time to change the energy from destructive to constructive, or to express gratitude for opportunities to look for common ground and for ways to work cooperatively and collectively.

Please try and enjoy this spread as you transition into the new month. If you do, I’d love to see your spreads so feel free to leave it in the comments!

New Moon Tarot and Oracle Card Spread to Support Your Intention and Manifestation

I am a big believer in using Tarot as a powerful tool in self exploration and personal development. I created this 5 card spread for support in manifesting an intention over the next moon cycle, or anytime you need some insight in that area. This spread can help you gain clarity around your goals or intentions, and how to navigate the various energies surrounding this situation. You can use this spread with your favorite Tarot or Oracle card deck.

Angel Tarot Card Backs

  1. Intent to manifest during this moon cycle. What goal or intention can be brought into being over this new moon cycle.
  2. You are here. Snapshot of an area of your life right now. Where you currently are in relation to your intention.
  3. Energies to hold onto. What is currently working for you and should be continued.
  4. Energy to release. What is no longer serving you – Let go of this to make space for something better.
  5. Incoming energies to embrace. New energy or opportunities coming your way that can assist you in manifesting your intention.

To give you an idea of how this spread flows, I’m sharing an over view of the reading I laid out for myself, using my Angel Tarot Cards.

New Moon Tarot Spread With Angel Tarot Cards

  1. Eight of Air: I really love this card which shows a beautiful unicorn running free out in front of the herd. This card lets me know it’s okay to put myself out there, and that this is the time to set my intention to be more confident and independent while breaking free of my social anxiety and fear of failure. This is definitely something I struggle with so I am looking forward to being energetically supported in this over the coming moon cycle.
  2. Strength: This card shows where I am now – a place where I’ve developed my inner strength and cultivated the qualities of kindness and compassion towards others. I have been very dedicated in my Loving Kindness practice lately, and this card underneath the Eight of Air suggests that I should remember to apply that Loving Kindness not only to others, but also to myself. This card in this position says, “you’ve got what it takes, so what are you so afraid of?”
  3. The Emperor: Over the past few months I’ve worked hard to be more organized, set my schedule, and stick to it. The Emperor card here confirms that it is working for me and I should stick with it, even though it sometimes seems contrary to my nature, because overall it has been beneficial for me, and it will continue to serve me as I manifest my intention of being a more independent and confident woman.
  4. Two of Air: This card is a reminder to choose my battles wisely, and let go of all the indecision. It’s about having the courage to honestly assess the truth of the situation and make choices about where changes need to be made, and which things in my day to day life are worth taking a stand for, and which ones just don’t matter that much I should release control over.
  5. Page of Earth: I think this is a really lovely card to get in this “incoming energies” position, as the Pages are often seen as messengers of what is to come. This card is asking me to embrace and embody the qualities of the Page of Earth who is scholarly, dependable, patient, and successful, as these qualities can help me manifest my intention during this cycle. Page of Earth asks that I be alert for new learning and career opportunities, and to be open to exploration and trying new things.

Overall, these cards speak to continuing to grow and develop a mental fortitude, taking well thought out and orderly action, honing decision making skills, and being willing to just go for it when it comes to trying new things and sharing my ideas with others. I like that Archangel Ariel comes up with Strength and Archangel Michael with The Emperor as I work with these two a lot in my work around life purpose and manifesting, so their presence here confirms for me that this is a major area I would be served to focus on until the next New Moon, and that they both can be of assistance to me during this process.

I hope you like this spread designed for the New Moon. Before I begin I like to play some music, light a candle, and burn some sage to clear the space before calling in my guides and angels. If you try this spread, I would love to hear what you received in your reading, or about your pre-reading ritual. 🙂

A Tarot and Oracle Card Spread for April’s Full “Pink” Moon

I created this spread to help you harness the magical healing and creation energies of April’s Full “Pink” Moon, which falls this year on April 11. Use it around the full moon, or anytime you need help determining which areas of your life could benefit from some healing attention. This 5 card spread can be used with your favorite Angel, Tarot, or Oracle Card deck.

Psychic Tarot Oracle For the Heart Card Backs

  1. What area of my life could use healing at this time?
  2. What energies from the past to I need to release in order to facilitate this healing?
  3. What energies are coming to assist me in the immediate future?
  4. Guidance – How can I integrate these insights into my daily life?
  5. Possible Outcome – What could be possible for me if the Guidance is followed.

I thought I would quickly share the cards I pulled for myself, to give you a better idea of how the spread flows. For this reading I used John Holland’s The Psychic Tarot For The Heart Oracle Cards. This is not a traditional Tarot deck, and its structure takes a little getting used to, but I think it gives really great insight on relationships of all kinds, as well as any situation where you would like to receive heart centered guidance.

Pink Moon Reading Using Psychic Tarot For the Heart Oracle Cards

Yes, I regret not wiping the finger smudges off the cards before taking pics. Ooops! 😉

  1.  Base Chakra: The Base Chakra, also known as the Red, First, or Root Chakra is our foundation for success in the Earthly areas of life. Money and finances, food, shelter, the physical body – all that is needed for survival is associated with this Chakra, and this is where I need to focus my healing energies at this time. For me, this means it’s time to get active and do things which are going to energize and engage this Chakra.
  2.  Seek the Truth: This card speaks to pulling back the veil of self criticism and judgement in order to see the truth of ones situation. It’s easy to beat ones self up over past mistakes, for me, this is the time to let go of those limiting beliefs, self doubt and beating myself up over things that happened in the past. This full moon I should release those things, and live in the truth of the now.
  3. Manifest: This is a pretty awesome card to get in this “incoming energies” position. The Manifest card is all about getting clear on what you want, and then harnessing your power to work with Spirit and co-create those desires into reality. This card lets me know that I need to get clarity on my goals now so I can use the tools that I all ready have to manifest them into being.
  4. Observe: This card asks that I do more observing, and less directing. Being an observer is about noticing the signals and guidance from Spirit, and acting on them from a centered emotional state, rather than from a place of anxiety or fear. It’s about surrendering to the experience of life and discovering instead of trying to control and dictate the way to what you may think is wanted or needed. This card also lets me know that I may benefit if I can change my perspective and look at things in a new light.
  5. Moving On: The process of self-discovery usually results in change of one kind or another, and the Moving On card is a signal that a big change of some kind is quite possibly in my future. While the image on this card could be construed as lonely, I actually think this is a great card to have in the “Possible Outcome” position. To me, moving on is all about uncovering your true heart desires and making moves toward actualizing them.

I feel pretty excited and energized about the insights revealed in this reading. The cards have a funny way of telling you things that you all ready know, but aren’t necessarily acknowledging and this reading definitely resonated with me in that way.

If you try this spread out during our current Full Moon I’d love to hear how it flowed for you. 🌕
