Today I’m sharing “Mind, Body, Spirit” from Orly’s Breathable line. If you are unfamiliar with this line, Orly markets it as a one-step treatment and color. It requires no base or top coat and is formulated with argan oil and vitamins to promote strong, healthy nails.
Although I really like the neutral nude color of this polish, the formula is not the greatest. I had issues with streaking and patchiness and needed 4 coats for this polish to look halfway decent on my nails. This is one of those polishes that tends to get gummy during application so it’s important to work quickly and to not overwork the polish.
As this is a “one-step” polish I did not use a base or top coat for this polish. However, I do want to try this polish again with a base and top coat to see if that would help me to achieve a better end result. My nails have extreme ridges and I think I might have had a smoother application had I used base coat. I also think that top coat would help to even everything out and help the polish to dry faster. Although this polish didn’t take too long to dry to the touch, I did notice that it took a while to fully harden so it was a struggle having to be careful and not dent the polish. Having 4 coats of polish on probably didn’t help! I usually use a quick dry top coat so all the dry time with this was not my favorite! In any case, I think I would have only needed 3 coats had I used base and top coat and will definitely be wearing it that way next time I reach for this color.
