“This IS Fruit” from Painted Phalanges is a stunning neon shade that is perfect for summer. This polish starts with an orange leaning neon red base that is filled with an assortment of matte yellow glitter, lime/gold shifty flakes, and red holo micro shreds. The holo effect is subtle and sparse, but it does add a beautiful twinkle as it catches the light.
I love the squishy feel of this polish, and when paired with a glossy top coat this shade has a bright juicy vibe. “This IS Fruit” was Painted Phalanges contribution to June 2020 Polish Pickup. I am really glad that I picked this one up. It has a bit of a thick formula, but is not at all difficult to work with. My photos show 3 thin coats, although I think a lot of people would be able to get away with just 2.
As is common with neon polishes, this one dries down on the dull side, but as you can see in the photos, it looks amazing with a layer of glossy top coat. There is a small bit of texture with the glitter, so a top coat easily smooths all of that out as well.
This was my first time trying out this brand, and I really loved this polish – so much so that I have already picked up a few more from them!
If you see this in a destash I would totally pick this one up as it is gorgeous! If you already have it in your collection definitely get it on your nails this summer. I really enjoyed wearing this as a manicure. While this neon is a perfect summer shade, I can also imagine this being great for Halloween nail art, so I am looking forward to playing around with “This IS Fruit” as we get into October as well.
