Today is a super exciting day because my order from January’s Hella Handmade Creations sale has arrived! As a nail polish addict, I am always excited to add new polishes to my collection and I am looking forward to all the beautiful manicures and pedicures that are in my future with these lovely indie polishes! I went a little crazy during the January sale, but no regrets because these polishes are stunners!

My Hella Handmade Creations January 2020 polish haul! I picked up polishes from Music City Beauty, Wildflower Lacquer, Nail Hoot, Pretty Jelly, Turtle Tootsie Polishes, Femme Fatale Cosmetics, Supernatural Lacquer, and received a “gift with purchase” topcoat from Under A Hula Moon.

As you can see I purchased a good variety of polishes, and I did a pretty decent job of picking ones that are unique to my collection, and different from each other. These are so new that none of them have made it to my nails yet, but I did go ahead and swatch them on swatch sticks as that really helps me keep my collection organized. I am happy to report that based on that initial swatch session, all of these formulas seem good and I’m expecting that all of these will be easy to work with when it comes to actually getting them onto my nails! For now, let’s take a closer look at these polishes!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics: City Of The Sun

First up is this lovely peachy-pink jelly polish from Femme Fatale. This one is called City Of The Sun. I love the delicate color and the scattered holo. This one is going to be very flattering to my skin tone and I think for me it will end up being one of those neutral with something extra polishes. I definitely plan on wearing this one quite a bit this spring and summer.

Music City Beauty: Take On Me

Next up is the shade Take On Me from Music City Beauty. This is a mid-toned charcoal grey creme with scattered holo that is so pretty! I tend to gravitate towards greys like this in the cloudy winter months and it’s always nice to have a little holo in the winter to enjoy whenever the sun peeks through! This was *almost* a one coater on my swatch stick so I think it’s going to offer really great coverage on the nail!

Nail Hoot: Mother Ginger

This holographic beauty is brought to us from Nail Hoot and is called Mother Ginger. The color is reminiscent of a ginger snap or gingerbread cookie and it has a very prominent holographic effect. I can’t wait to paint the little butterfly ring that adorns the cap – too cute!

Pretty Jelly: The Lovers

I love reading tarot cards and have quite the sizable collection, so I was excited to see Pretty Jelly was inspired by The Lovers card to bring us this stunning golden holographic glitter bomb. My swatch stick shows this in 2 coats. I think this could be used as a topper with just 1 coat, or be built up to full opacity in 3 coats. This is a truly stunning polish that really surprised me with just how much I like it.

Supernatural Lacquer: Serotonin

Next up is this beautiful light grey holographic polish called Serotonin from Supernatural Lacquer. This polish has a delicate appearance and that holo really pops in the sunlight!

Turtle Tootsie Polishes: So What

Spoiler alert: This is my summer 2020 pedicure shade! This polish is from Turtle Tootsie Polishes and is called So What. I absolutely love this vibrant neon green. The color is very saturated and not as whited out as some neons tend to be. This polish is very unique with its antique gold flakies that give a beautiful speckled effect.

Wildflower Lacquer: Kick Some Ass And Drink Some Beer

The final polish I picked up this month is Wildflower Lacquer‘s Kick Some Ass And Drink Some Beer. Fans of the movie Dazed and Confused may really appreciate this one! I love the deep color of this one and how packed full of shimmery sparkle this is. It is so pretty and I see myself wearing this a lot starting in the fall and continuing to wear it through the entire holiday season.

Glossy topcoat by Under A Hula Moon

Because my purchase was so large I received this glossy topcoat by Under A Hula Moon as a gift with purchase. I haven’t tried it yet, but I can always use another topcoat! The wide brush on this looks really nice, and I love that they included a mixing ball in the bottle. I wish more topcoats came like this as I think the mixing ball really helps to keep the polish from getting too gloopy over time. Fingers crossed this is a quick-dry topcoat!

Honestly, as a polish addict, the monthly Hella Handmade Creations sales can be pretty dangerous for me (and my bank account) so I don’t participate every month but I am really glad I checked out the January sale. I picked up some polishes that I will start wearing right away, ones I will wear during the summer, and some to look forward to wearing next fall and winter. These are all new to me brands and it’s exciting to try and to discover new polish lines.

If you participated in the January Hella Handmade Creations sale, I’d love to know what you picked up, so please let me know by leaving a comment!
